Real Racing 2 HD unterstützt 1080p – Wiedergabe
Mit der Vorstellung des iPad 2 führte Apple auch den Dock – Connector auf HDMI Adapter ein, welcher das komplette iPad 2 Display per HDMI an den Fernseher weitergibt, wobei auf 1080p hochskaliert wird, da das iPad 2 nur eine Auflösung von 1.024 x 768 Pixeln besitzt. Für 39 € gibt’s den Adapter bei Apple.
Die Entwickler von Firemint, bekannt für Real Racing 1 und 2, haben herausgefunden, dass der Grafikchip PowerVR SGX543MP2 des iPad 2 A5 Prozessors auch 1080p 3D – Grafiken wiedergeben kann. Das nächste Update von Real Racing 2 HD wird demnach volle 1080p ohne Hochskalierung bei 30 fp/s wiedergeben können.

This is a first for any iOS game, as other games have built in video out support but run in the native resolution and aspect ratio of the iPad. Real Racing 2 HD, on the other hand, will run full screen with no black borders and at native 1080p resolution without scaling.
Wenn andere Spieleentwickler diesem Vorbild von Firemint folgen, braucht Apple keine Spielekonsole entwicklen. Mit dem A5 – Chip und neueren Generationen von Apple TV und iOS – Geräten könnten in Zukunft HD – fähige Spiele mit einem tragbaren Gerät auf einem großen 1080p Full HD – TV gespielt werden.
