pod2g kommt voran beim iPhone 4S untethered Jailbreak
Wir haben am Samstag berichtet, dass sich pod2g über das vergangene Wochenende dem untethered iOS 5.0.1 Jailbreak beim iPhone 4S annehmen wollte.
Zwar gelang ihm nicht der Durchbruch – in Form des Jailbreaks – aber er kam einen beträchtlichen Schritt weiter.
Auf seinem Blog berichtete pod2g gestern, dass es noch Probleme mit dem Cache Management gegeben habe:

The untether fails right now because I’m having processor cache issues.
I’m close, but I can’t figure out what happens. It certainly has something to do with the multicore cache management.
I could sort it out quick, it’s a matter of chance.
I’ll report you my progress tomorrow.
Heute konnte er die Probleme mit dem Cache in den Griff bekommen. Nach hunderten von Tests fand er den gesuchten Schlüssel. Auch Jay Freeman (Entwickler von Cydia), ist an der Entwicklung des untether beteiligt. Er half bei einem fehlenden Puzzleteil, wie pod2g es beschreibt.
OK, figured it out, the A5 cache is not a problem anymore.
I sorted it out by doing the untether in a single thread and by flushing all the dcache then all the icache in a row at a strategical point of the process.
It took me like a hundred of tests to find the key. Hard for the nerves.

Another news : I discussed with @saurik today about the launchd boot process, and he’s found one missing piece of the puzzle I needed to have a perfectly stable jailbreak. He’s definitly one of the best iOS gurus out there. Thank you saurik!
Wenn es weiter so positiv weitergeht, haben wir noch bis Weihnachten einen iOS 5.0.1 untethered Jailbreak für alle iOS-Geräte, inklusive dem iPhone 4S und iPad 2.
Besonders der Teil ” I needed to have a perfectly stable jailbreak” deutet auf einen fertigen, aber noch instabilen Jailbreak hin. Möglich, dass es in Kürze endlich so weit ist.
