iPad 3 in der ersten März-Woche mit Retina-Display, A6-Prozessor
Laut AllThingsD hält Apple in der ersten März-Woche 2012 ein Event ab, bei dem das neue iPad 3 vorgestellt werden soll.
Das Event findet angeblich in San Francisco im Yerba Buena Center for the Arts statt, der von Apple favorisierten Location für Produktvorstellungen.
Es enthält in letzter Zeit aufgekommenen Gerüchten zufolge ein 2048×1536 Retina-Display, einen Dual-Core Apple A6-Prozessor und LTE.
Sources say the company has chosen the first week in March to debut the successor to the iPad 2, and will do so at one of its trademark special events. The event will be held in San Francisco, presumably at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, Apple’s preferred location for big announcements like these.
Die New York Times untermauert den Bericht von AllThingsD mit der Aussage eines Apple-Mitarbeiters, der anonym bleiben will:
An Apple employee said that the version of the new iPad that is being tested inside the company is “essentially the same size and shape as the iPad 2,” with an improved and “truly amazing” screen. The tablet will include a faster processor, said the employee, who did not want to be identified because Apple is not fond of leaks.
Es handelt sich demnach um ein “erstaunendes bzw. verblüffendes Display” mit “der selben Größe und Form wie beim iPad 2“.

Wie gross ist ein 2048 mal 1536 Pixel grosses Display?

Full HD – Auflösung sind 1920×1080 Pixel. Man kann auf dem iPad 3 also eine Blu-ray in voller Auflösung gucken und hat immer noch einige Pixel frei. Und alles auf einem 9,7 Zoll – Bildschirm.
Zum Vergleich: Das sind mehr Pixel als jedes Mac-Display hat außer das des 27″ iMac.
