Reuters: Neues iPhone mit kleinerem 19-Pin Dock-Anschluss

Nach einem Bericht von Reuters soll das neue iPhone mit kleinerem, 19-Pin Dock-Anschluss daherkommen. Der aktuelle Dock-Anschluss enthält 30 Pins, sodass der neuere Connector um 11 Pins, also etwa 30 % schrumpfen würde.

In mehreren, angeblichen Teile-Leaks und Konzepten tauchte der kleinere Dock-Anschluss nach den ersten Berichten im Februar auf. Ein kürzlich aufgetauchtes Patent von Apple bestätigt das Vorhaben.

“The iPhone 5, Apple’s next generation iPhone expected to go on sale around October, will come with a 19-pin connector port at the bottom instead of the proprietary 30-pin port “to make room for the earphone moving to the bottom”, two sources familiar with the matter told Reuters.

That would mean the new phone would not connect with the myriad of accessories such as speakers and power chargers that form part of the ecosystem around iPods, iPads and iPhones, without an adapter.”

Außerdem heißt es in den Bericht, dass der Kophöreranschluss von der Oberseite an die Unterseite wandern wird. Genau wie es schon seit Jahren im iPod touch der Fall ist.

Das neue iPhone befindet sich bereits in China in Produktion und soll irgendwann im Oktober vorgestellt werden.
